What is Universal Design in the Workplace?

The objective of Universal Design in the Workplace is to create flexible organizations as well as societies where everyone’s right to be included is respected. This requires workplace innovation.

The model is based on Universal Design as defined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, but has developed into a broad approach to make sure that everyone's unique skills are valued.

What is Lärandeforum UUA?

Lärandeforum UUA is a project co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF). It is also a broad coalition: the Co-operative Employers’ AssociationCSR Swedenthe Industrial and Metal Workers’ Unionthe National Forum for Voluntary OrganizationsRandstad SwedenSwedavia Airportsthe Swedish Association of Occupational Health and Safetythe Swedish Disability Rights Federationthe Union for Professionals, and Vasakronan. The project is being implementet by the Union for Professionals. 

"UUA" in the acronym for "Unversell Utformning av Arbetsplatser", which is Swedish for for Universal Design in the Workplace.

What do you do?

  • We give workhops and trainings (in Swedish) free of charge.
  • We share good norms, new ways of work and do adocacy work for a more open working life. 
  • We promote research and transnational collaboration.
  • We are building an organisation that will continue working after the project ends.
